United in Heart, Extending Care to Grassroots Communities

Rooted in its role as a national regional medical center, the hospital leverages Guangdong–Guangxi cooperation to promote the expansion of high‑quality medical resources to the grassroots. It has established a "technical collaboration institution" model, currently with 29 close‑knit partner institutions, and its technical collaboration covers all 14 prefecture‑level cities in Guangxi as well as Jinghong City in Yunnan. Through discipline‑based paired assistance, expert residency programs, and remote collaboration platforms, the hospital is progressively shaping a collaborative network that “Based in Guangxi, Oriented toward Southwest China, Extending to ASEAN”.

Upholding the spirit of The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University's motto — "Treat the disease, heal the body, cure the mind; save people, save the nation, save the world" — and adhering to the principles of "identical quality output, unified management, and resource sharing," the hospital has, on the basis of a modern hospital governance framework, made concerted efforts to promote the integration of clinical practice and research by establishing a series of specialized centers. These include the Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Medical Center, Cardiovascular Medical Center, Brain Science Center, Women and Children's Medical Center, Oncology Medical Center, Education and Training Center, Center for Medical Informatics and Big Data, International Medical Center, Medical Science and Translational Center, and Geriatric Medical Center. Through these efforts, the hospital aims to build a modern, high-level national regional medical center with distinctive specialty strengths, well-equipped facilities, and a well-structured talent team, integrating clinical care, diagnosis and treatment of complex and critical conditions, education and training, scientific research and development, disease prevention, and health management — and ultimately, to become a benchmark national regional medical center that is rooted in Guangxi, serves Southwest China, extends its reach to ASEAN, and aligns with international standards.
